Installations and everyday improvements

Lighting, fans and power where you need them.

Some jobs are straightforward replacements. Others need new wiring, proper mounting, protection, compatible controls or an assessment of the existing circuit.

Powerpoints & additional outlets

New powerpoints, relocations, replacements and convenient outlets where rooms and equipment actually need them.

LED lights & replacements

New or replacement LED fittings, downlights and practical upgrades that consider light levels, colour temperature and fixture suitability.

Ceiling fan installations

New fans and replacements with mounting, switching, controller compatibility and access assessed before installation.

Outdoor & weather-exposed lighting

Lighting for entrances, paths, verandahs and work areas, with equipment selected for the location and environmental exposure.

Switches, sensors & dimmers

Switching improvements, motion sensors, timers and compatible dimmer/control arrangements for suitable lighting equipment.

Circuits for new electrical loads

Additional circuits or other changes where the existing installation, protection and demand need assessment first.

Help us scope the job

Four details that make electrical quotes easier.

You do not need a technical diagnosis. A clear description of the number of items, where they belong and what is there now makes a useful start.

How many items?

List each new or replacement fitting, fan, switch or powerpoint, including how many at each location.

Exact locations

Describe rooms and proposed fitting positions, and provide safe photos or a marked-up plan where useful.

Existing vs new

Tell us if we are replacing something already wired, moving it, or supplying a completely new point or circuit.

Access & equipment

Mention ceiling height, roof access, construction type, preferred fixtures, dimming/smart-control needs and any supplied products.

Common decisions

Choose fittings that suit the installation.

LED colour and dimming

Warm, neutral and cool light create different results. For dimming, the control and fittings need to be compatible, and the circuit may need assessment.

Ceiling fans and mounting

Secure support, clearance, wiring access, switching and the selected fan's installation requirements matter as much as appearance.

Outdoor lighting

Weather and moisture exposure affect fitting choice, mounting, connections and the protection required. Coastal exposure can also affect durability.

Additional circuits

Some new outlets or equipment may require more than a convenient connection point. We consider the existing circuit, load and protective devices.

How the work progresses

From your list to a finished electrical job.

01

Describe the items

Send the quantities, proposed locations, existing fixtures and any preferred products.

02

Check the installation

Assess wiring, circuits, controls, mounting support, access and whether new circuits are required.

03

Agree on the scope

Confirm the installations, equipment, labour basis and any limitations before proceeding.

04

Install and test

Complete the agreed work, test appropriately and provide applicable NSW electrical documentation.

Replacement labour is different from diagnosing a fault.

Known installations may be scoped by quantity and access, but a light that fails repeatedly, an intermittent issue or a circuit that trips may require a charged diagnostic visit. We confirm current labour, travel, GST and material arrangements before work is booked.

Common questions

Power, lighting and fan FAQs.

Can you install extra powerpoints in an existing home?

Yes. We can assess a new outlet's location, existing circuit arrangement, protection and the practical cable route before confirming the work required.

Can old light fittings be replaced with LEDs?

Yes. Existing fittings can often be replaced or upgraded, subject to wiring condition, mounting and suitability. We can discuss colour temperature, light levels and any dimmer compatibility.

Do you install ceiling fans or replace existing fans?

Yes. New and replacement fan jobs depend on mounting support, existing wiring, access and the selected fan and controller. An existing light point does not automatically mean a fan can be fitted without additional work.

Can you install lights outdoors or in wet areas?

Yes, subject to the site's conditions and applicable electrical requirements. Equipment location, weather exposure and suitability need checking, particularly for external areas and bathrooms.

Can I combine several small lighting and power jobs?

Yes. Send a numbered list of each item, its quantity and location. Safe photos help identify the materials and access requirements before scheduling.

What happens if a new LED light keeps tripping or flickering?

Flickering or repeated protective-device trips may involve wiring, connections, controls or equipment compatibility. Where the cause is uncertain, fault finding is the appropriate first step rather than guessing which fitting to replace.

Do you supply the fittings or can I buy my own?

We can discuss either approach. Any owner-supplied item must be appropriate for its location and installation, with the necessary instructions and approvals. Installation suitability is confirmed before work is agreed.
